These are my mom and dad with their fur sons, Bruiser (the giant
Yorkie) and Oliver (the Old English Sheepdog). We
recently lost Oliver and we all miss him so very much, but also feel
like he is still part of our family and he always will be. My
parents are the two of my best friends. It's a good thing,
too! We see a lot of each other! My father and I are
business partners and have been for the past nine years. We own
a financial planning practice together with offices in two towns.
My mom and I talk on the phone all the time and see each other a lot
each week. It is more usual for us to talk on the phone several
times a day than not at all! As a
teenager, I never would have thought I'd enjoy just hanging around with
my parents as much as I do. What can I say? They have just
grown up so!!! I'm also pretty fond of my fur brothers. Not
hard to
see where I get my love of animals, is it?
This
is me with
my sister, Robin (on the right) at her wedding. Wasn't she a pretty
bride? Robin and I are very close. We were fought like crazy growing
up, though. We couldn't hardly ride in the car together for 10 minutes
without bickering. We used to each bring our biggest toy -- hers was
always a baby doll and
mine was always a stuffed animal -- to see how far we could encroach on
the other's "side" before getting into trouble. We talk on the phone
all
the time now and are the best of friends. Robin is a reading specialist
teacher and her students are very lucky. She puts in a tremendous
amount of time and talent for the benefit of her students and school.

These cuties are my nephews, Jonah (oldest) and Elias. They
couldn't be any cuter than they are!!! Jonah talks a lot and he
is SOOOO smart. Eli is a very sweet baby. Jonah was born on
March 27, 2004 and Elias was born on September 8, 2006. They have
their own webpage, which you can see by clicking their link in the menu
bar. The picture above is from December 2006.
This is
my friend, Kim Campbell, driving Harmony Hills Harvest Gold, at the
Virginia Miniature Horse Club Show in 2002. They won the class
the picture is from! Kim and I went to high school together many
moons ago, but we didn't really know each other then. We got to
know each other several years ago when we met up again through horses
as
we boarded at the same stable. Kim is sort of my office buddy,
even though she works about 30 miles from my office! We instant
message each
other sometimes during the day and it's fun to chat with her. She
and
I are both crazy over our animals and she was one of the first people
to
get me interested in seeing how my minis might do at showing. One
of
Kim's miniature horses, KC, is a 1/2 brother to one of my minis,
Lonesome. KC is the first baby miniature I ever saw and he was
just as tiny, beautiful
and buckskin as could be :)

Erica
Killion is pictured above with the gorgeous show stallion we co-own,
Ericas Echos of My Destiny. Erica has become such a wonderful
mentor and educator to me regarding
horses. She is a wealth of knowledge and has amazing
insight. She is such a wonderful person and I admire her for many
reasons. She's made a tremendous difference in my little herd of
horses. She's already made some of my major dreams in horses a
reality and has inspired me to pursue some other long term horse
goals, including a breeding program. Erica is one in a billion.

This
is my friend, Julie Slemp, with her fabulous Paint stallion, Zippos
Goldn Mover ("Junior"). I have known Julie for about 7 years and
first met her at the stable of our mutual friend, Priscilla Lane.
This is interesting because as it turns out, she and I are almost
related! Julie's husband, Jerry, is actually a cousin of my
husband, Harvey!!! Small world! Julie is currently
accomplishing some major goals in her life with horses, including
winning Novice Hi Point at the Shenandoah Paint Horse Show May 20th of
2005. I distinctly remember sitting on my horse in the riding
ring at Priscilla's about 7 years ago and Julie was sitting on her then
horse, Scooter. And, yes,
I do mean sitting. We were on our
horses, stationary, running our mouths! Julie told me about a
show horse she used to own named Silver. She told me she knew
she'd never own as good a show horse as Silver again, but I something
tells me she wouldn't trade her Junior for Silver now!!! You can
visit Julie and her horses online at Triple J & A Quarter Horses and
Paints.
