Whinny For Me Farm
is located in Spotsylvania, VA. We are located kind of between
the towns of Fredericksburg, VA and Orange, VA. Whinny For Me
Farm is a small hobby farm and home to myself, Jill
O'Roark and my husband, Harvey
Hamilton (link to
pictures). We have many
wonderful four legged babies. On our small farm, we have some
beautiful miniature horses, playful Nigerian dwarf goats, fluffy
shih-tzu, a gorgeous blue merle collie, a lab x chow, a fuzzy
Maine Coon cat
and a lot
of fun!
We have been a couple
since we were teenagers and Harvey is now a little older than he was
while
I just turn 29 again each and every year. Harvey and I were
married in 2003. We started dating in 1985 but wouldn't want to
rush into anything! We love each other very much. |
| Our horses are our major hobby. We do have many who are accomplished show horses. Our horses have had top honors including many, many halter and driving championships within their state and region and numerous National Top Ten, National Top Five and National CHAMPION wins. Additionally, several of our horses are AMHA National Honor Roll, AMHR National All Stars, and AMHR Halter Hall of Fame recipients! When it comes to the shows, we pretty much concentrate on halter, but many of our adult horses are trained to drive and several of our geldings do in hand performance. We take a lot of pride in how well fitted out / conditioned and behaved our show horses are. Both of our stallions are National caliber halter horses (with the records to support this statement) and they are prestigiously bred. Our mares and fillies are all show quality with nice bloodlines. We also have outstanding show geldings, including one who is a many time National champion in halter and model classes, one who is a National Top Five in performance, one who is a Supreme Champion halter horse and son of the very famous Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too (a/k/a "BTU"), and our newest, a 2007 grey colt who is a leggy, stretchy and oh-so-fancy and full of presence grandson of Buckeroo. In addition to the outstanding show horses listed above, we own many other treasured miniature horses, most of whom are or will be accomplished in the show ring and trained to drive. These horses are all handled and loved on daily. Each of our hoofed wonders has a place in our hearts and a spot on this website! We would like to thank an outstanding horsewoman and good friend, Erica Killion of Erica's Tiny Trotters (see our links page) in Drasco, AR, for the tremendous positive impact she has had on our show string and breeding program. She is a valued mentor and friend who has helped so many of our horse dreams come true! |

Apart from my hobby farm, I work as a financial planner and investment broker. I hold many securities licenses, including: Series 6 (variable contracts), Series 7 (stock broker / general securities rep), Series 24 (registered principal / OSJ), Series 63 (blue skies), and Series 65 (registered investment advisor). I am an OSJ (officer of supervisory jurisdiction) for my broker / dealer (which is a big deal, I supervise other registered reps and have the licensing required to manage a brokerage office). You can learn more about securities licenses here. Additionally, I am licensed in the areas of Life and Health Insurance in the state of Virginia and California. I also have earned a CFS (Certified Funds Specialist) designation from The Institute of Business & Finance. Currently, I am working on my CFP (Certified Financial Planner) designation through the College For Financial Planning. It is a lot of work but will be worth it. Together, my father (pictured) and I own an financial planning and investment advisory practice. I've been working in the business since 1995 and am the Vice President. I'm responsible for supervising the preparation of financial plans, serving as the OSJ, conducting client meetings, and for a lot of our marketing. My father and I have several employees and reps who work for and with us. Additionally, my father and I conduct financial and retirement planning dinner seminars and workshops at area country clubs, and I really enjoy this opportunity to meet nice people and do some public speaking. I have a background in banking and mortgage lending, having previously worked as a mortgage loan originator at "the" local bank. Now, I especially find it rewarding to work with my father and am proud of what we have and will accomplish. One of the things I am most grateful for in life is that I get to spend so much time with my Dad! |
| My
other interests and hobbies include: spending time with my family,
computers, music (especially
old
school punk rock and alternative rock -- so what if I'm in my 30's),
reading (avid Stephen King fan), spoiling, loving and driving
my miniature horses, spending time
with my family, shopping on eBay, surfing the net , and playing with
my pets. I enjoy all my hobbies and interests (obviously),
but as you might guess, I am especially into my pets. I adore them and
can't imagine not having them around. They are so much company and so
much fun! I feel lucky to have them in my life and to have a
wonderful husband who loves them just as much as I do! |

He has galloped through young
girls' dreams,
added richness to grown women's lives,
and served men in war and strife...
