Whinny For Me Farm
is located in Spotsylvania, VA. We are located kind of between
the towns of Fredericksburg, VA and Orange, VA. Whinny For Me
Farm is a small hobby farm and home to myself, Jill
O'Roark and my husband, Harvey
Hamilton (link to
pictures). We
have been a couple
since we were teenagers and Harvey is now a little older than he was
while
I just turn 29 again each and every year. Harvey and I were
married in 2003. We started dating in 1985 but wouldn't want to
rush into anything! We love each other very much. Harvey is
such a
good man and a hard worker. He really does everything he can to
keep
me happy! On our small farm, we have many
wonderful four legged babies including our beautiful miniature horses,
playful Nigerian dwarf goats, fluffy
shih tzu dogs, a gorgeous blue merle collie, a lab x chow, a
fuzzy
Maine Coon cat. |
| Our horses are our major hobby. We do have many who are accomplished show horses. Our horses have had top honors including many, many halter and driving championships within their state and region and numerous National Top Ten, National Top Five, National Champion, and National GRAND Champion wins. Additionally, several of our horses are AMHA National Honor Roll, AMHR National All Stars, and AMHR Halter Hall of Fame recipients! With the breeding herd we have put together, we own and produce quality miniature horses that can bring as much joy into the lives of other enthusiasts as our own exceptional horses have brought to us. Our breeding horses are all show quality and are each dually registered with AMHA and AMHR. We have quite a lot of Buckeroo blood and National Grand Champion lines within our herd. Please check out our "Foals" page (link above) where you will find pictures and videos of our miniature foals. These foals showcase what we work so hard towards. Our "specialty" is Buckeroo bred, necky, show quality foals -- a good percentage of which will be buckskin in color. We proudly offer the miniature horses we do to caring and knowledgeable homes, whether to be a ribbon winning show horse or a beloved family pet. We would like to thank an outstanding horsewoman and good friend, Erica Killion of Erica's Tiny Trotters (see our links page) in Drasco, AR, for the tremendous positive impact she has had on our show string and breeding program. She is a valued mentor and friend who has helped so many of our horse dreams come true! |

Apart from my hobby farm, I work as a financial advisor and coach. My career in the securities industry dates back to 1995 when I obtained my first NASD / FINRA license. The securities licenses I hold Include Series 7 (stock broker / general securities rep), Series 24 (registered principal / OSJ), Series 63 (blue skies), and Series 65 (registered investment advisor). Along with my securities licenses, I am licensed in the areas of Life Insurance, Annuities (fixed & variable) and Health Insurance in the states of VA, NC, SC, and FL. I have earned the professional designation of Certified Funds Specialist (CFS) through the Institute of Business and Finance, and I am currently pursuing the professional designation of Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) through The American College. The investment advisory firm I own and operate is known as O'Roark Asset Management (link). My business partner is my father, Don O'Roark (pictured). We have been business partners since 1995 and I have learned so many things from him. Now, since I am the Supervisory OSJ of our office, I'm my father's supervisor and have been since 2003. I do not know who would have been more alarmed to hear this would happen back when I was a teenager, him or me (smile)! I am very proud of what we have built in our business and we both take a lot of personal satisfaction in the relationships we have built with our clients. Additionally, one of the things I am most grateful for in life is that I get to spend so much time with my Dad! I have a background in banking and mortgage lending, having previously worked as a mortgage loan originator at "the" local bank. That position taught me much, but I cannot say that I miss working in that particular sector of the financial services arena. |
| My
other interests and hobbies include: spending time with my family,
computers, music (especially
old
school punk rock and alternative rock -- so what if I'm in my 30's),
reading (avid Stephen King fan), spoiling, loving and driving
my miniature horses, spending time
with my family, shopping on eBay, surfing the net , and playing with
my pets. I enjoy all my hobbies and interests (obviously),
but as you might guess, I am especially into my pets. I adore them and
can't imagine not having them around. They are so much company and so
much fun! I feel lucky to have them in my life and to have a
wonderful husband who loves them just as much as I do! |

He has galloped through young
girls' dreams,
added richness to grown women's lives,
and served men in war and strife...
