About Minis

Show me your horse and I will tell you who you are.

We appreciate our geldings very much and our precious geldings are the horses we actually enjoy the most!  Many of our geldings, as you can probably see, are show stallion material. Some of them were shown at the National level as stallions and have had many wins as halter and performance stallions. Gelding a miniature horse is not a reflection of quality but necessary as there are far too many stallions in the breed. We have two fabulous, prestigiously bred, National caliber show stallions as it is and geldings are just sooooo much fun as performance and driving horses. SO, we have chosen to geld some mighty fine stallions. Our geldings include a 9x National Champion / Reserve National Champion halter horse, a National Top 5 performance horse, a gorgeous Supreme champion golden palomino son of the very famous "BTU" (Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too), and a stretchy, very fancy grandson of Buckeroo.

BacardiSmarty Bacardi

Little Kings BT Bacardi Gold ("Bacardi") (more pictures and pedigree) is a 2004 golden and gorgeous B division 37.25" gelding.  He is a son of BTU (Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too), who is a National GRAND Champion!  He was bred by Little King Farm.  Bacardi is a natural beauty if there ever was one!

Bacardi has a limited but very successful show record to date having won first place awards in halter and color,
Grand Champion halter wins and Supreme Champion honors.  Bacardi's training, conditioning and grooming has been done 100% by us (no professional help) so we are EXTRA pleased with his success.  It is a very good feeling to be on the other end of this guy's show lead!

We are so proud of "Smarty Bacardi".  He is a stunning horse who is very athletic and has a big heart. He is so much fun to be around.  Soon, he will be trained to drive and we think he will make a very enjoyable, head turning driving horse.  Bacardi is my favorite among favorites.  He is just so full of heart and is such a momma's boy.

AMHA and AMHR pending / AMHR Futurity Nominated
TrooperTrooper

Whinny For Me's Finely Dun ("Trooper")
(pedigree and more pictures) is a little red dun colt.  He was born at Whinny For Me Farm on April 29, 2009 and was a few weeks premature at about 310 days gestation.

Unfortunately, Trooper's dam, who had a difficult time post-delivery, has rejected him and we are raising him on mare's milk replacer formula and as soon as he will eat them, milk pellets.  Trooper got his name for a reason -- he is a very determined guy and a fighter.  We are optimistic that he will overcome his early obstacles.

At this point, Trooper has all of what we look for in a stallion quality foal, however, we will most likely geld him.  Having to hand raise him, he may be too special to us to sell and geldings are able to lead much happier lives than most stallions.

Trooper is sired by our AMHR National Top Ten / AMHA Honor Roll / Halter Champion stallion,
Erica's Gone and DunIT (see his page).  DunIT is a grandson of both Ima Boones Little Buckeroo Too ("BTU") and Yellow Diamond Little Feather, and a great grandson of Egyptian King!  Trooper is out of our mare, Wee Equine Acres Dun Sweet (see her page).

DuckyDucky

Whinny For Me's Dun Buckin Around ("Ducky") (pedigree and more pictures) is a black grey or sabino roan colt.  He was born on March 30, 2008.  He is out of our gorgeous Rowdy bred mare, Harrells Rowdys Reflection of Hope (see her page) and by our outstanding stallion, Ericas Gone and DunIT (above) who has bragging rights of AMHR National Top Ten (halter), AMHA Honor Roll (halter) and many time Halter Champion

We expect Ducky to mature around 34".  His pedigree is power packed with National Champions, National Top Ten's, and National Champion Producers and Ducky is that very desirable Rowbuck cross of Rowdy and Buckeroo lines.  His maternal sister, Harrells Flirting With Perfection (see her), is very similarly bred and built and she is one of our nicest horses.   Ducky has a gorgeous head, long neck and straight legs.  He is a ham and a show off.

Ducky is currently slated to be our Junior Under Division / A Division Show Gelding.  We've dreamed of having a homebred, kick butt show gelding and think he's just what we'd been hoping for!  We will be putting Ducky's beautiful dam on DunIT's date card again in hopes of a future "duckling".

Future Show Gelding -- Grey Grandson of both Buckeroo and Yellow Diamond Little Feather
Great Grandson of Egyptian King -- 183135 AMHA /

Blue July 2009Blue -- February 2009

Ericas Big City Blue By U ("Blue") (pedigree and more pictures) is a 2007 AMHA / AMHR (futurity nominated) grey gelding.  Blue was bred by Erica Killion / Erica's Tiny Trotters (breeder of MANY National Champions) in Drasco, AR.  He is very upright and refined with a elegant head, straight legs and good bite.  In addition to his beauty and good conformation, Blue has outstanding action.  When old enough, he will be one to watch in the driving arena.

He is very well bred.  He  is a son of Little Kings Big City Buck
(picture -- he is AMAZING), which makes him a grand son of the one and only Boones Little Buckeroo (learn about Buckeroo).  Blue's dam, MCC Feathers Silver Streak (picture), is a Reserve National Champion and Multiple Grand Champion.  His maternal grandsire is Yellow Diamond Little Feather (picture), and his maternal grand grandsire is National Grand Champion Hemlock Brooks Egyptian King (picture).   "On Paper", they do not come much better!  And in person, he's pretty much all that as well!

Blue is a maternal brother to our prized and beloved stallion, Ericas Gone and DunIT, who has shown to many championship ribbons, took a National Top Ten in halter and made the AMHA Halter Honor Roll his only year out on the AMHA circuit.  Blue is maternal brother to our double dilute Buckeroo granddaughter, Ericas Big City Bomb Shell, so is our second Big City baby
Some other members of Blue's family include his FULL brother, Ericas Streakin' For Bucks, who has shown two seasons on the National Circuit as a junior stallion, taking MANY overall Grand Champion Stallion titles and is a National Top 10 horse, and Erica's Smoke Rings In The Dark, a maternal brother who is a Reserve National Champion.  Full and half siblings on both sides of this boy's family have shown to top National honors.

On just a little bit of a sentimental note, I was up very late on June 1, 2007 and got to see, thanks to "Mare Stare" internet feeds, Blue arrive into the world!  I'd been especially interested to see the delivery as I already owned one son of the mare, Silver (my beloved show stallion, DunIT).  It was a little scary to watch as from this side of the camera, it looked like Silver was having trouble getting Blue out.  She'd laid down, rocked around, and got back up many times.  Silver's hind quarters went off camera and I was holding my breath as I saw her contractions.  Moments later, I watched through bleary eyes as Erica carried a very leggy and elegant Blue in her arms around to his momma's head.  He was as fine as he was perfect.  I did not know at the time that I'd be calling him "mine" in a few months.

DerbyDerby

Triple H Derby Day Miracle ("Derby") (more pictures and pedigree) is a beautiful 2000 AMHR 31" palomino gelding (formerly my show stallion).  I have owned Derby since he was a yearling, having purchased him in 2001 from his breeders, Kent and Jennifer Hall of Benton, KY.

Derby's show career has been extremely successful and includes a first place in his Stallion class two years in a row at the Delmarva Spring Classic and he holds numerous Grand Champion, Champion and Reserve Champion Halter and Performance Titles! At the 2002 AMHR Nationals in Columbia, MO, Derby got a top five placement!

Derby is trained to compete in halter, country pleasure driving, halter obstacle, obstacle driving, liberty and hunter. He's a wonderful and talented all-round horse with a big heart.  He is just one that is easy to enjoy and impossible not to love.  And, Derby loves attention almost as much as he loves cookies.

ALSO, Derby has a claim to fame (beyond all the show ribbons!) as he is one of only a handful of miniature horses across our country to be included, story and picture, in the book, For Love of the Miniature Horse by Kathy Atchley. You can order a copy of this book by visiting Mini Express.

SkipperSkipper

Whinny For Me's Skippin Miracle ("Skipper") (more pictures and pedigree) is out of Edgewood Skip To My Lou (one of our favorite and best mares, picture 1picture 2, picture 3) and by our beloved, multiple grand champion stallion, National Top 5 horse, Triple H Derby Day Miracle (picture 1, picture 2, picture 3).  Skipper was born on 5/29/03 and looks to have matured around 31". He is the first horse that is of my breeding (out of my mare, by my stallion).  So, I have loved him since before he was born.  I see so much of his dad in him.  It has been so satisfying to watch him mature and to have him in our lives.  I showed Skipper at the Virginia Miniature Horse Club's Summer Classic where he stood Grand Champion Jr. Gelding and again at the May Extravaganza, a two judge AMHR Show in Harrington, DE, where he stood Champion Jr. Gelding under both judges.

Our Very First Miniature -- Wonderful Driving Gelding
EclipseEclipse

Whinny for Me's AA Eclipse (more pictures) is a 1999 33.5" black and white pinto gelding.  Eclipse is our very first miniature and also the first horse we raised from a weanling.  We had him gelded, grew him up, and got him trained to drive.  He's got awesome high stepping action at the trot!  Just a lot of fun to watch in action and despite his "fiery" motion, he is very easy to drive.  Eclipse can go for months without being hooked up and be a breeze to enjoy when he is driven.  Eclipse has even given cart rides to handicapped children and stood like a statue to receive hugs and kisses as "thank you's".  He is honestly one of the most gentle and kind animals I have ever known.  We have often let him keep our youngest additions company as they settle in.  Eclipse is one of our most favorite horses.  Just extremely easy to love and to drive.

3x National Champion / 6x Reserve National Champion / Halter Hall of Fame / National All Star / 20x Grand Champion -- 93210 AMHR
Sunny and EricaSunny -- Summer 2007
Sunny is lovingly shared with Erica Killion and her cousin, Clem, of Drasco, AR -- He is a special horse with two families who love him dearly.

Tibbs Sundowner (HOF) ("Sunny") (more pictures and pedigree is a 1998 Silver Bay gelding who is a grandson of Boones Little Andy.  Sunny's AMHR and 34" on the button.  Also, as you can see, he is a gorgeous boy!  As beautiful a horse as Sunny is on the outside, the honest truth is he is even more beautiful on the inside.  I can describe him pretty effectively as our hoofed teddy bear.  I've never known a horse like him.

Sunny is a show horse deluxe.  As a colt, he was a National Top 10 stallion. Sunny's had amazing success in the show ring and is in fact a three-time NATIONAL Champion and six time Reserve NATIONAL Champion as a gelding in halter and model classes.  He holds a Halter Hall of Fame (and almost 200 Halter Points!).  So far, Sunny has had 20 Grand Champion wins.  Of course, I am a little bit partial to him but do they come any better?  Additionally, Sunny can do halter obstacles and could 360 pivot a hole to China and will soon be trained to drive.  He is a show machine!

In his free time, Sunny loves to drink Gator Ade or Power Ade and can drink from sports bottles.  He also loves to give kisses to his people.  However, his main passion is sweets.  He loves his horse cookies and especially loves peppermint candies.  He enjoys playing with is best friend, Bacardi, our palomino BTU son, and is very much a people pony.

So far, we ourselves have only shown Sunny a few times, but each time was in FULL senior gelding classes.  Sunny swept the classes and was pinned Grand Champion Senior Gelding each time out.  Never have I met an easier horse to show, both by his auto pilot handling and ease of fitting out for the season.  Sunny is a blessing in my life and is very appreciated and loved.
